How can we make learning web development more practical and relevant?

Inteli research presented at IEEE ICEED 2024 shows how PBL makes teaching web development more practical, collaborative and connected to the market.

The research presented at IEEE ICEED 2024, conducted by myself, professor and academic director Flavia Santoro, and student Vinícius Kumagai, investigated the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in teaching web development, by creating an application aimed at hiring construction professionals.

Conducted over ten weeks in an academic context focused on technology, the research assessed how PBL impacts technical training and student confidence.

The results showed that by working on real projects, students not only improved their programming and interface design skills, but also developed essential competencies such as collaboration, problem-solving and greater autonomy. In addition, they reported increased engagement and a greater connection between theory and practice.

The study reinforces the importance of active methodologies in higher education, showing that practical experiences are fundamental to preparing more complete professionals who are aligned with the real demands of the technology market. Find out more here.
